My daughter by margonaut

My daughter

holding up the sign. Downtown Atlanta. A bit of a relief to see how many are wearing masks. She wisely did not tell me until a few days after the fact.
Such a fine line between pride and safety concerns isn’t it? My older son and his girlfriend have gone to a few demonstrations in DC, but he usually doesn’t tell me until much later also.

@wiesnerbeth SUCH a fine line! I was glad that she had the experience, but COVID and violence were both threats. They walked 8 miles, between the CNN Center and the capitol, moving whenever things got tense. There was tear gas at the capitol that day. She said the police presence changed as the day went on, from bike police to riot police to National Guard.

I understand your mixed feelings. Sounds like quite an experience, but I'd be so proud of her for acting on her convictions.

@margonaut My son said that everyone has been wearing masks at the protests he’s gone to and there are people giving them out to those who don’t have any. The violence is another story . . .
