Election Day by margonaut

Election Day

Felt cathartic to finish this quilt on that particular day. A documentation so we won't forget. Based on the Daily Show's "Donald Trump's 100 Most Tremendous Scandals". STILL using garbage bag scraps!
I love your quilting on this — and that you finished it in such a momentous day. I put a lot of words into my quilting but I’ve never tried to put them in lines. Did you use your enormous cone of orange thread?! I’m always inspired by your work — I may have to try this myself!

P.S. Where did you start quilting? From the top down? Or in the middle?

@wiesnerbeth Yes, when I saw that orange thread on the shelf it felt like a "warning" color. I just drew chalk lines on the quilt and started at the top. Worst thing was going back to dot all those i's. Called this one "Un-Presidented". Let's never go back there. Several years ago I did a quilt that had MLK Jr's "I have a dream" speech quilted into the background.

@margonaut Yes, let’s definitely not go back there. Dotting the “i”s is a pain. I usually leave them blank but on the last quilt I made I hand-added French knots above all of them.
