@wiesnerbeth I knew that you'd know! Botanist extraordinaire! Yes, that's what they are. And now that I've looked them up I know that they are invasive and poisonous to dogs! These are in the front yard, but now I know to check the back to make sure Jack doesn't get nibbly with any. Thank you! Oh, and they close up at night (which I hadn't noticed). But sure enough when I walked down to get the paper this morning they were still closed up.

@margonaut I thought they were invasive but I didn’t know that they were poisonous! Good catch!
