SQUIRREL by markp

SQUIRREL

A very busy day, ( as usual), no time to get out anywhere so all of todays posts are from a short time in the garden.

Are you sure you only have a garden and not some sort of estate... Fabulous pic !

@plainjaneandnononsense Haha, thank you Jane. I sometimes jokingly mention that I am having a wander around the estate.
I do have quite a large garden, (about 200 feet long), with some mature trees in. Most of the nearby gardens are a similar size, at the rear is a school with large playing fields, and there is a large well treed park quite close by. So it is quite a good area for wild life.
I garden, plant and manage mine with wild life in mind. Lots of Holly, Ivy and berry bearing bushes. Bee and butterfly friendly flowers also help. Some more picky gardeners might say it's been let run wild and is full of weeds, but it certainly pulls in a great variety of birds and insects and in large numbers sometimes.
For years there has also been a good selection of feeders and various foods that keeps the birds here all year round.

There are Hedgehogs, Wood mice, Frogs, and Toads here. I have seen a Newt twice, and in the summer there are Bats around about, so I can get a lot of photo opportunities purely by wandering around the estate.

@markp wow 200ft! Theyre not weeds they're quite obviously perfect wildlife habitat which judging by that list of visitors and your fabulous photos is much appreciated by many creatures. Loving your pics so keep up the good work Mark!
