This just about sums up today. I had to leave my bed and breakfast this morning, it was sunny at first light and I thought oh thats okay, I'll go and get my tent up before the rain starts.
However before I got down for breakfast the rain started and continued for most of the day. I went and found the campsite which was situated inside an old walled garden. It was quite a nice spot and the high walls probably do a good job of keeping the wind off. I sat and read in the car, waiting for a break in the rain. It seemed like it wasn't going to stop, so got out and put the tent up in the rain. Then I went for a walk in the rain, but didn't really see anything of note except large amounts of rain.
I got back to the car, got changed and went for a cycle ride in the rain. I covered most of the roads on the island, again I didn't stop to take photographs.
Once back at the car, I grabbed a towel and soap, and walked over to the shower block to get wet again !!
Washed, dried, (an unusual occurrence today), and changed I drove down into the village and went to the little cafe for tea. The food was lovely and you got huge portions, I really struggled to eat it all.
Got back to the campsite, read for a bit, spotted a Barn Owl out hunting. Finally got in the tent, nice, dry and warm and an early night.
