I have had another surprise visitor to the garden this week. A young Moorhen, he was possibly here last week, but I first saw him properly on Monday, down by the pond. Since then he appears to have moved into residence, regularly coming up close to the house and the feeders.
@houser934 Yes they are related to Coots. This a young one from early this year. Its beak will change colour, red, yellow and white as it grows into maturity.
