STARVING STARLING

After a morning spent tidying the garden thoughts turned to todays photo. As it was a cold day the bird feeders were busy so it seemed like a good subject. After several unsuccessful attempts, in flew a noisy Starling ( Sturnus vulgaris) he posed quite happily feeding out of a coconut shell. They have a reputation of being dirty and scruffy but as you can see, up close they have a very bright plumage.

Nice clear shot.

@amyamoeba Thank you. I placed the coconut shell in a good position for photography and as you can see it works. However I am working on a new creation so that it looks more natural and not just a bird on a feeder.
