It can get really cold up in the Cairngorms and the Ducks up there have developed a really novel way of keeping their beaks warm.
This female Mallard with a downy feather stuck on the end of her beak was accompanied by a male Mallard with a feather on the end of his beak too !
Tried but could not get a decent picture of them together.
