I spotted this Goldfinch ( Carduelis carduelis) perched in a Flowering Currant Bush just outside the kitchen while I was doing dinner, so changed tasks and I had my shot for today.

@judis Thank you very much Judi, yes I have seen shots of your Goldfinch it's got much more yellow on it.

@markp They are very yellow when breeding, otherwise quite drab (even the males). I took some shots of them the other day and they are just starting to turn yellow. American Goldfinch is my state bird (Washington) when I get a good shot of them in full breeding mode I'll post it and tag you so you can see them.
