Well it looks like Spring is finally springing into action, loads of Daffodils are now in flower, as are some Dandelions in the garden today. Yesterday there was a beautiful yellow Brimstone butterfly flitting around. Looking in the pond today, I found this frog, he was there most of the day but he had no one to play with, beginning to wonder if there is going to be any Frog / Toad spawn this year as it is very late now.
Excellent shot, Mark. That is the one thing we don't seem to have in our pond; Frogs. Then again our ghost koi is so large he would make swift work of anything too small
@steampowered Thanks Paul, since the Heron took the fish when the defences were down, the frogs have had it to themselves. The large Goldfish and Orfe would take the tadpoles but as there were literally thousands of them ,enough survived to turn into adult frogs.
@diananorfolk Thanks Diana, yes it is late, I have had spawn as early as late January, late Feb/ early March is normal. However don't give up hope, just been out to pond and at first could only find the frog from yesterday still sat in the same spot, then spotted another, so that's two ! A bit of a come down from 60 plus frogs/ toads and even an occasional newt that's normal. Just found two Toads mating !!!!
