OUT OF THE BLUE

This was not the planned shot for today. Friends invited me to join them sailing down the River Mersey and out to Wales, it was going to be a perfect day for sailing but unfortunately I had to turn down the offer. I did say that I would go down river and photograph them sailing past, got to the river and then got a phone call saying they had a problem and were returning to the marina. After getting back into the canal an inspection revealed a mass of roots and vegetation wrapped around the propeller, cue the crane and lift out to clear it. All ready to try again tomorrow. So this was an unexpected shot, totally OUT OF THE BLUE you might say.
