Day five.
So up early and out of my bed and breakfast at Port Askaig for 7am, due to my carefully and meticulously planned itinerary I need to have a 20 mile early morning cycle across Islay to catch my next ferry. As I rode into Port Ellen, I spotted this very nice yacht just setting sail, " Beautiful" I thought, until I saw her name! The Flying Dutchman ! Now for those of you who don't know the legend of the Flying Dutchman lets just say that its a legendary ghost ship, that in nautical circles the sight of this phantom ship is a portent of doom. "Poppycock", I hear you say. Okay, but the ferry I am about to board is going to take me to Kennacraig, the THIRTEENTH different harbour of my trip, at about THIRTEEN hundred hours. Later on I will be on my THIRTEENTH ferry of the trip on Friday the THIRTEENTH of September in the year Two Thousand and THIRTEEN !!!!!
