It is said that in photography timing is important, maybe this is an example of that. I was following a Tufted Duck ( Aythya fuligula ) across a lake, just framing him up and waiting till he looked just right. As I thought it was exactly the right time I pressed the shutter and captured him,and with perfect timing, also caught another one who was just surfacing after diving down looking for food. The one at the back looks rather startled.
