I found this Fly in the garden, resting on a spiky Berberis leaf. I have not been able to make a positive identification, but it closely resembles a Lesser Housefly.
@ajcann Thank you very much for that AJ, yes I have had another look around to try and identify this, and I think you are right that its not a House Fly from the family Muscidae, and much more resembles something from the family Sarcophagidae.
