MAYBE THE LAST ? by markp

MAYBE THE LAST ?

I posted a Dragonfly shot a few days ago, I thought it would be the last one I would see this year. I was really surprised to find this one flying around in Wales. Its wings were rather battered, but maybe that's not so surprising if it always picks such perilous perches.
It was enjoying the sunshine on a Bramble branch with dangerous looking thorns, right in the heart of a spiky Gorse bush.

This is a Southern Hawker ( Aeshna cyanea ).
Beautiful capture of his markings...I do fear the end is near.

@gardencat Thank you Joanne, I am not so sure. I am a couple of days behind posting my shots, I have been into the garden today, ( the 31th), and it is really warm over here again. I saw today that the spring flowering Laburnum Tree is back in flower, with Bees visiting the flowers. It's like we are back into Spring, having missed out Winter.

Thats a prickly scene! He must have not been worried by all those sharp thorns! Great shot - the design of this one is amazing!
