I had planned to go out to North Wales today. The forecast said very heavy rain, and very strong winds by the afternoon. It was all part of the severe storm that is battering large parts of Scotland tonight.
Sounds like a day to stay in, edit photographs and stay near a roaring open fire.
Wrong !!
Up before dawn, drove down to the Conway valley, parked up at the far end of the lake and walked around it. At this end of the lake, I climbed up the pass on the path that takes you through to Capel Curig. I didn't go that far, at the top of the pass I veered off to my right and climbed higher to get this shot of Llyn Crafnant.
It was a beautiful day, if a bit breezy up on the tops.
After taking this, I turned to face roughly south, and to look down into Snowdonia, ( see my other post ).
I had a quick bite to eat and watched the skies.
On the far horizon a bank of cloud appeared, the strong winds bringing them in really fast. They looked very grey and threatening and I decided now might be a good time to get down off the hill and get back to the car.
Perfect timing, back at the car I had just put everything in as it started to rain.
