THIEVING MAGPIE by markp

THIEVING MAGPIE

One of the places I go to look for Kingfishers has Robins around, sometimes actually coming into the hide. If I remember I take some food and spread it outside, so if there is nothing else happening, I can turn around and watch the Robins and occasionally a little Bank Vole enjoying their dinners. Last week when I turned around there were two Magpies down, stealing the food. They could see me sitting there, and had approached very quietly so as not to alert me to their presence.

This is beautifully clear. I know magpies have a bad reputation but they're still striking looking birds.
