This at the moment is MY Kingfisher I think. I have seen him here very regularly, not always in a position to photograph him though. Most of the photographers that use this site go somewhere else, somewhere much more well known for them. It is almost impossible to get here without him seeing you and flying off in a streak of sapphire blue. However once you are in and settled, it's much harder for him to see you, and he will fly in and pose. I found him by trying to get photographs of something else that does not seem to appeal to the Kingfisher hunters and so I am left alone as no one else seems to know that this one of his favourite spots.
So for now I think I will keep it secret, and let him go on enjoying the morning sun.
I know just what you mean about secret places. Blue Tits have nested in a gate post for years and hardly anybody knows!
This is a wonderful and highly enviable image.
