RAREST GOOSE IN THE WORLD

This is a Nene Goose, native to Hawail. Due to disturbance and persecution, by 1952 the population had crashed to around 30 birds. Led by conservationist Peter Scott, a determined effort to save them was made, and after captive breeding and reintroductions it means the population is now in the very low thousands.

Glad they were able to save this goose. It has such interesting feather patterns. I like how he's giving a small "smile!"
