And not just a normal bee. As soon as I saw this in the garden, I knew it was different to most of the ones I see.
It turns out to be a Leaf Cutting Bee,with a magnificent scientific name, ( Megachile centuncularis ). It is a solitary bee, and using its large mouth parts, it cuts out neat semi circular pieces of leaf. It takes these away, and makes sausage shaped nest cells in various crevices.
