TREE CREEPER by markp

TREE CREEPER

Ever seen what looks like a small brown mouse run up a tree, stopping now and then to look for food? Well you have probably seen a Tree Creeper (Certhia famillaris). They start at the base of a tree looking for insects, get so far up and then fly down to another tree. This is one I found while I was up in Scotland. Over in North America, I believe you have a very similar but different species called a Brown Creeper.
Yes! We call them Brown Creepers, and on rare occasions, I see one on a tree just outside my door. Fabulous shot!! fave love the clarity, they move so quickly!

What beautiful markings he has - you got some super detail in your shot - that bokeh behind him really highlights his texture on the tree trunk.

@dh Thank you Delena, if you keep your eyes open I am pretty sure the woods in and around the hills you live near will have quite a few of these flitting around. They can be quite hard to see at times but once you see a few and know how they behave you don't really need that good a view to know that is what you have seen, and they tend to be quite approachable. They do prefer real woods though rather than just an odd few trees in a hedgerow.
