This is the grass verge near to Holland Farm, probably very near to the centre of Papa Westray. Within a very short walking distance of here is the hostel and shop, the tiny Post Office, the airport, John o'Hollands Museum, and Knap of Howar, the earliest stand house in northern Europe, over 5,000 years old, to mention just a few of this beautiful island's attractions.

No doubt, the stone house is drafty in the winter and may not have the best plumbing, etc. etc. but seeing this, it is hard to imagine why anyone wouldn't want to live here.
Beautiful light on those poppies, they really pop against that lovely stone wall. Lovely old house and view, nice composition. Interesting to see this part of the country from your shots. Fav.
