PIER HEAD by markp

PIER HEAD

After four days of sleep, I needed a quiet day to get going again. As if, needed to go to Liverpool, Christmas shopping, spent all morning enjoying that and then dumped shopping in car, got camera and walked down to the Pier Head next to the river. Seemed a good idea at the time. When I reached the river, met a storm force gale, with heavy bursts of horizontal rain. This is partly the cause of the weird perspective in this shot, if I had tried to shoot straight at the buildings, within seconds the camera and lens would have been soaked, there being no shelter down at this end. You are looking at the Royal Liver Building, with both towers and Liver Birds visible, then the Cunard Building, finally about half of the Port of Liverpool Building. This needs revisiting again in the near future, on a drier day.
