EVENING PINE by markp

EVENING PINE

The tree in the centre of the shot with the large crack in its trunk, nicely lit with the evening sun, is a Scots Pine. This is the natural vegetation around here, vast forests of it used to cover the region but harvesting to many and overgrazing by deer have reduced it quite substantially. There is a very large project taking place to regenerate the forests. A shot from this morning in my other album.
