A SWELL LIGHTHOUSE

Still working my way through my shots from New Brighton, another shot of Perch Rock Lighthouse with an interesting sea. In the background are the cranes from Seaforth container port, one of the largest in the country. If you look closely, just to the right of the lighthouse, you can see what look like two large coal heaps. Its not, it is actually scrap metal, there is a huge machine which chops up all sorts of scrap metal, cars etc are reduced to small bits, sort of like a giant kitchen mincer, and are made much easier to handle and are then loaded on to ships and exported to be made back into usable steel.
Here ends todays useless information.
very dramatic shot

Very nice capture! Information is fun, not useless! We have a scrap metal yard in our little town next to the railroad tracks and that's how it is shipped out of here.
