PERILOUS POSITION -PART TWO by markp

PERILOUS POSITION -PART TWO

Here is part two, still rather a long narrative, its better if you have read part one first.

So here I was, stood watching a very agitated Red Deer stag.
I took my eye away from the camera to see what it was he was watching.

All I could see was four adults and two children making their way down the road. He was definitely watching them, you could see his eyes following them as the came down the road. Loads of people had walked or jogged past him on the road, but these had disturbed him in some way.

Why were they different ? What had they done wrong ? They had no idea at all that he was paying them lots of attention, and that they were possibly in a perilous position.

Suddenly it dawned on me. There were two men, and two women. The two women were carrying children. One had a very large baby sling, across her front. The other lady had sat the youngster on her shoulders.

The stags are used to humans, and generally will ignore us. However here was a human with something on her head.
I think in the stags head was the thought that here was a human with a large set of antlers on her head and a very possible danger to HIS herd of hinds. I think he was all ready to fight to protect his herd.
Fortunately they didn't pause to look at him and kept on walking.
If she had stopped, and turned to face him with her " ANTLERS" it might have been very different.

He watched them closely as they walked away, and then went to round up his hinds.
