HUNGRY WASP ? by markp

HUNGRY WASP ?

Nope.
This wasp was busy chewing lumps of wood, with its powerful mandibles. But it wasn't because it was hungry. It digests, and breaks down the wood, then regurgitates it back up as a form of paper. It then uses that to build their intricate nests. Clever little blighters.

Super shot. We had a wasp nest inside the shed door, fascinating watching it grow and grow and...
No problems with the wasps, we respected their space, they ignored us.
