is this yours Mark? Strangely I am interested in old paraffin lamps, my great grandfather having invented and developed the 'Tilley' lamp.

@Cherrill Oh thats interesting Cherrill, these are not lanterns but paraffin blow lamps, used for soldering and braising. I thought they would make an interesting subject for a camera club competition, and have borrowed them from my parents house. If memory serves me right, I think they have one or two brass lamps as well.

Ah yes I had seen those. They are in beautiful condition. Someone keeps their brass well! :-) I have quite a collection of Tilley lamp paraphernalia and have written a book for a dissertation I did. Of recent years I'm afraid they are all in the loft. I wonder if your parent have any Tilley objects?
