While waiting for the Goldcrest to show himself again, the Robin called in to say hello. He was down in a dark corner, and I pushed the ISO up to 3,200 to catch him.
I've got to learn more about processing - I'm scared to go above 1600 without getting mega noise - and when I edit to lighten the noise I lose detail. You sure didn't! This is terrific.
@marshwader Thank you Madeleine, I agree with you that this is a touch soft, and I had taken the ISO up to 3,200 which the camera it's self is quite capable of handling without additional software. I have been quite impressed with its results even when pushed to its max ISO of 25,600.
However the subject I was trying to capture was a Goldcrest, that kept appearing and disappearing, he was higher up and in better light, ( though still rubbish), and 3,200 was plenty fast enough.
The Robin just appeared down in a very dark corner, while I was waiting, and I left the settings as they were in a vain hope the Goldcrest would perform.
It's not that bad, handheld 300mm at 1/125th, I only used it because I didn't like my Goldcrest ones..
