During my walk I saw some Mountain Hares, in their beautiful white winter coats. I missed one that sat and posed very close to me, I had fixed the camera so it would not swing while I was coming down the hill, and by the time I had freed it the Hare decided he had waited long enough and hopped off slowly.
I also saw a lot of these Red Grouse, including some very large groups of them. He might seem very visible against the snow, but believe me if he had sat down in the heather, he would have vanished in an instant.
