CAPSID BUG by markp

CAPSID BUG

This had me fooled for a little bit. At first glance, and until I tried to identify him I thought he was a Shield Bug. No, it turns out he is a Capsid or Mirid Bug, Deraeocoris ruber, to be precise.
Most mirids are herbivorous, with fruit and seeds being their main diet. There are over 200 species in the British Isles.
Fascinating info and capture - fav
