AND YET ANOTHER HOVER-FLY

Not quite sure exactly which species this one is yet. But he appears to be enjoying the Ragwort.

I've noticed most of the flies I see in macro have flat kind of faceted eyes whereas bees seem to have smooth spherical ones. Not sure why but it is interesting to wonder about the difference in function.
