ARACHNID ANATOMY - THREE by markp

ARACHNID ANATOMY - THREE

In this close up of his face, you can see his black shiny eyes. The short hairy arms are his palps. The shiny brown bits are his claw or mandible used for feeding or cutting up his prey in some species. At the bottom of the claw are the black fangs, used to inject venom into his prey. In common with many insects, spiders also can't actually eat their prey and use a straw like device to suck up their food. This is not visible in this shot.

PS.I know that does not read quite right, but spiders are not insects.
