MYSTERY SOLVED

So here is another shot of my mystery duck.
I had tried to identify it before posting my original image. My best guess, but I wasn't certain, was it was a female Gadwall.

This is were my problems started, as I assumed this duck was a duck !
It's not !
This duck is a drake !
I had looked at the drakes of some species, but concentrated my search on ducks.

It is a Yellow - Billed Pintail, and a male. The female looks very similar, but paler.

It's natural habitat is freshwater lakes, rivers and marshes in the bottom half of South America.
It spends the winter offshore and holds the record for being found the furthest south of any wildfowl.

Thanks for the update. Poor guy looks a little drab for a male in the duck family but who knows, just cause he's not flashy doesn't mean he isn't a nice guy. LOL
