TRAVEL FROM BYGONE DAYS

This is one of the Steam Locomotives pulling a regular service on the Strathspey Railway. At the moment it runs from Aviemore to Broomhill via Boat of Garten, however it has grand plans for extending this line. I cycled past the old Station at Grantown, the other day and work is well underway to renovate and provide parking and other facilities to extend it to there. I would guess they are trying to get that open for next year.
But I believe if they can raise enough money they want to go much further, reopening parts of the old Inverness to Perth Junction Railway, which became the Highland Railway.

More wonders from Scotland here....
