Penguin boat

One of the striking appearances in our harbor. This small tanker, donated by the Port of Rotterdam, commutes between Nedlloyd's ocean carriers and the Oceanium at Blijdorp Zoo. The clean seawater from the Atlanic Ocean, used as ballast, is transported to the salt water tanks at the Zoo by some retired sailors. A unique collaborative project to keep the 7 million liters as fresh and consistent as possible!
Vivd green Mek.... Not sure the penguins will be comfortable with the brightness :-)

That is pretty unique. It looks like a tourist trap - but it's functional. Interesting!

@pwallis Oh no, not a tourist trap at all. In fact hardly anyone will see the ship! It's mooring a few hundred meters from the Zoo where no tourist will come, using an underground pipeline for transportation. I bet even most Rotterdammers don't know about its existence!
