This unpronounceable title probably needs some explanation. 'We' – the people from Rotterdam – give everything nicknames. Unless the rest of the Dutch intermeddles, this naming generally results in quite nice titles. Like Nakie van Blakie which rhymes in Dutch and translates as 'The nude from Blaak' because originally this nude figure was situated on a building at Blaak, near Central Station. It was moved from Blaak to the Coolsingel in 1979 and logically she lost her nickname after that. Nowadays the nude is hanging on a massive old bank building (former ABN AMRO) and nobody knows who she is anymore. Just for the record, the artist Piet Starreveld gave it the name 'Peace and Prosperity' in 1953.
Very playful composition. I like your use of light, then shine on the center which leads me into the dark unknown. I assume we are looking up a side of a building. GREAT!
