The eye of Rotterdam

You can take a ride in the largest mobile Ferris wheel until April 10 in our city. The attraction is part of 'Rotterdam celebrates the city', a program that celebrates 75 years of rebuilding the city.
What a great way to see and appreciate your city from a different perspective. Love the lighting.

Have you been up yourself?, bet the view up there would make a great shot. I have read of the destruction of Rotterdam, I may be wrong in this, but is it why it is such a modern city now?

@jack4john nope, it wasn't open yet :-)
True, the city center was completely gone after 1940. It was actually a gift because the center was old and busy and full and dangerous. They immediately decided it was the moment to start over. What still stood tall was demolished except for a few historic buildings, let us say 5 or 6.

Yes, lots of creativity in R'dam, my sister lives there, in Katendrecht.

I like the silhouette of the wheel. I know that Rotterdam was heavily damaged in the war, and I'm glad that its rebuilding is being celebrated.
