Once struck by lightning - I think - made this tree pretty much hollow at the bottom. The tree survived and does well. Inside someone painted the text ‘EMPTY INNSIDE’ in Dutch, text error included. If you look closely you can see LEEG which means ‘empty’ at the bottom. I tried a panorama picture from top to bottom to picture the entire tree with text and hollow bottom. Somehow I didn’t manage to capture the bottom and the big difference in lighting made it a way to dark, although nicely dramatic. Some editing revealed more detail. I’m pleased with the result.
Years ago while Land Surveying a tree near us got hit! I still drive by and can see the split on the tree! I must go get a pic one clear day!! Great POV!
