@sdutoit @mastermekAren't languages fun?! We American's use "Kaput" to also mean "Finished", but found this description when I looked to see if I was spelling it correctly: : unable to function The refrigerator is kaput. —often used with go The engine suddenly went kaput.

@sdutoit the sleepy translation for vaak seems a mystery but we also use kapot for your personal state after days hard work. In general it means broken in every sence. @Weezilou i didn’t know it was used in America also. We probably took it with us to New Amsterdam :-) We borrowed the word from the Germans btw, coming from the Latin word Caput (essere), meaning useless/become unnecessary.
