Kiona by mastermek

Kiona

There are 12 horses from the Oostvaardersplassen in the Slufter (Texel) at the moment. On our way to a beach bar we passed a few of them. We had some discussions about stopping for a photo, but even after a hesitation on my side, while passing the last horse of the row, we just rode on. After a drink we rode back to pick up the intended route around the top of the island. And there she was. All alone, still holding her pose, waiting for us to finally take that picture. The others were long gone.

I call her Kiona, which possibly means ‘brown hills’ in Sahaptin, the language of a native American tribe.
This is a great capture. She is stoic for sure.
