@ahleena oh, and why not? It's no secret though... John posted a marvelous photo the other day and I was on my way to the forest. So I told him I would look for a similar shot. So I did!
So, after some thought, I have decided that I really like this, in part because the figure looks so mysterious and ominous. But, zooming in for a closer look and realizing that it's really just a nice lady, it loses some gravitas. I think if it were mine, I would burn the figure to a silhouette and maybe add some blur or smear to give it an otherworldly quality. Still, Fav!
@ahleena thank you for the wonderful diquisition. I believe you are the first to do so during my stay in this wonderful community, which is much appreciated by my person. Thank you so very much!
I will be more careful next time :-)
No honest, some explaining. I'll take my pictures with my phone. In most cases the shots are edited and uploaded with my phone too, especially during the holidays. As you may know phone displays are quite small and colours and contrast not at all realistic.
You noticed the nice lady with so much more detail than I did, at first. You are somehow opening my eyes. I should be more careful and I should look at my pictures more closely so I could edit with more detail before uploading. Perhape I will do just that more often but lack of time prevent me from promising, sorry for that.
Anyway, I thank you again for your catching comment!
@mastermek Oh my goodness! Don't take my comment the wrong way. :( There are no mistakes on this project and YOUR project is whatever YOU want it to be. I was not trying to say that you should have done anything different with your photo, it's just that if you had submitted it to the WWYD challenge, that is what I would have done. And (confession) after I posted I snatched up your picture and edited it to see if what I was envisioning would have worked. Please don't feel like you have to be careful or look your pictures over more closely. :(
What you post is your own creative expression and I (and I think everyone else) wouldn't want you to change it for the world!
P.S. iPhone pictures and editing iPhone pictures is A W E S U M ! ! ! *spirit fingers!*
@ahleena my dear Poppy, I know exactly what you meant, I didn't get you wrong and my thanks are still sincere and in place! You are so right it's MY project and I believe I'm the last person in the world to change that for the sake of someone else. But I also believe that you can loose focus sometimes. The project has become a diary of some kind and I have been using my retro hipsta app for almost 5 years now because I still like the effects. Also it covers up the poor quality iphone pics. But there is a downside too. Ross' intention for the project was to become a better photographer by taking lots of pictures. I do like that idea but posting the way I do and refusing to drag my real cam around doesn't help reaching that goal. What I can do better, I now realize, is take more care about the post processing which I sometimes do but certainly not all the time. I'm not saying I would have altered the above picture but with your remark you gave me something to think about and to keep the spirit going. Praise yourself for that!
