Speckled Wood (pararge aegeria). They are a woodland butterfly but freely visit gardens and parks. Every year at least one decides to come into my sun room - I evicted one today, a bit earlier than usual. Lovely little insects, especially when newly eclosed. They are often found just as you have seen this one, almost concealed on dead leaves.
