Discovered this barn in my travels today. Looks like a subject worth coming back to explore. I would love your opinions on whether or not to eliminate the distracting power lines in this shot and shots in general. I tried different angles but couldn't avoid them and still have a decent composition.

This is a terrific shot but I agree with you about the power lines, they pull your eye away from the barn. I have the same hard time with some shots, determining what to "remove" and when to leave the photo as shot.
It is a beautiful photo but have to agree that it would be better without the power lines. I have asked people if I can photograph their homes and they are always flattered.
The old joke is that you forgot to bring your wire filter. In general, photos are better without the wires, unless they are the main subject, but this would be a very difficult image to modify, so I would just learn to like them.
It's a tricky job removing them in PS I would try and shot it lower down so the wires go higher ( I would get very low myself and try that angle) ..failing that I think I would leave it as found after all it's part of the location I suppose (;
