12-31-2014 Just completed my first year of 365! Sincere thanks to my 365 friends and followers for your inspiration and support throughout the year....
I hadn't heard of Fort Saybrook and Googled it. I learned that a railroad was built on the sight of a fortification that dates back to the 1600's, thus the wheels. Both the fort and the railroad are gone and there is a park here, now. If this photo is any indication, I would love to explore there and learn more of the history.
@rvwalker Thanks Ross, I was going to look up the history because I am not clear on all the details. There isn't much left to view at this site but there is a lot of history including a very old cemetery nearby.
