Funnel Cakes

Another shot featuring red for the get pushed challenge @jocasta gave me. Last night in the park it was "Purple Power Play" street fair/pep rally usually held downtown on Poyntz Ave (our main street). Moved to the park this year because there's street work still going on downtown on Poyntz. I wandered over there from the house in time for fireworks and caught the last of the K-State marching band playing the fight song and other rousers. We're just a block and a half from the park. I tried my hand (clumsily) at taking pictures of fireworks, but didn't get much. I did get one with a couple of very red blobs in the sky -- but I wouldn't bother posting here just for the redness.

I'm enjoying my 365 trip to Kansas. We don't have funnel cakes in the UK so googled it. Looks like red is the colour for signs.

@jocasta @eileenw Ah, funnel cakes -- just one example of the deep fat fried food available from fair vendors here in the midwest (and upper midwest -- plenty of this kind of stuff at the Minnesota State Fair.) What a pity you don't have such an vast array of options to clog your arteries in the UK. @sbolden Scott, do they sell funnel cakes in Maryland?
