"Sonny, you think you've got it hard. When I was your age, we were so poor, all eight of us kids had to share one teabag. By the time my youngest brother got to use it, all he got out of it was slumgullion."
* slumgullion:
1. a stew of meat, vegetables, potatoes, etc.
2. a beverage made weak or thin, as watery tea, coffee, or the like.
3. the refuse from processing whale carcasses.
4. a reddish, muddy deposit in mining sluices.
By process of elimination, you can easily see I'm going for meaning #2. And in case you haven't already guessed, this is the Mad Minute Word for this week.
@alicias@summerfield@happysnap@kareenking@suebarni@tryingforsighs Thanks. I love the mad minute words. @tryingforsighs Glad you like the lighting since all I did was raise the blinds on the window to get a bit more light on the subject. There was a little more color before I de-saturated it some and played with various other settings to get it darker again, LOL.
Ha! I really love this one! Especially because I heard the beginning of that phrase often as a kid....oh and although I said I never would, I have said it to my daughter a few times myself! lol Love the lighting, composition and colors!
This is so well done! Love the processing and composition. I am your get pushed partner! My challenge to you is to take a walk, stop every 21 steps and make a photograph. Challenge yourself!
@dixon Emmy, thank you so much for the challenge. Is it possible for me to take a rain check on that one? It's a great challenge and I'd love to do it, but right now I'm hobbling, with my legs (at the moment, particularly my left one) giving me pains. I hope I'm better tomorrow than I am at this particular moment. So I'm throwing myself at your feet and begging for a different challenge -- with the promise that I'll do that one when I've rested my legs sufficiently to do your excellent "take a walk" one.
I stopped into the library and logged onto 365 specifically to take the time to look at your album and come up with a challenge for you. Stay tuned.
No problem Mary! Don't worry about doing it later. How about this one... Photograph an object that is very important to you as if it were a sacred relic. Pay attention to lighting.
