Help! I'm lost in a maze -- of walls and of colors.
Actually that was last weekend. A week ago I bought a bunch of samples and painted them onto scraps of drywall. We needed to decide on interior wall colors by Monday. Do you know how many different colors Sherwin Williams offers? I don't either -- so many different hues, and dozens of shades and tints of each.
So, ahem... my get pushed partner for this week, Nicola @nicolaeastwood challenged me to photograph what gets in the way of my 365 project. Well, here it is...there are only so many hours in the day and the time I spent agonizing over colors was, correspondingly, NOT spent on 365. Sigh.
Great collage. I'm partial to the sage green shades. Matches a lot of other colors, like reds, browns and yellows. We painted most of the living spaces in our old house that color when we moved. Then painted our new house a similar shade. Then, when we moved a year later again, we ended up renting a house for a year with the same sage green walls. Good luck, just don't give up and go with white. Even if you decide you don't like the color you picked, it is easy to repaint later on.
Ok.. I've looked through some of your project. I like your sense of humor. I see that most of your shots are taken in the moment. I'd like to see you take your time and do a dramatic set up shot, using a bare light bulb as your light source (so your subject will probably be small.) Have fun! Oh! And I need to tell you that while I will be using your challenge for inspiration, I will most likely NOT post in the challenge time frame. I am in Idaho waiting for my daughter to have her second baby, and neither she nor her husband have a spot in their laptops for my camera card.
@m9f9l No sweat. Just tag me when you do post something. Being with your daughter is vastly more important. How exciting! I'll say a prayer for safe delivery of your precious grandchild. And I'll start thinking about the challenge you've given me.
@homeschoolmom You're smart to stick with what you like. I also like sage greens. The bottom 1/2 of the outside of the house is Sherwin Williams' "Clary Sage" but no sage (yet) in the interior. I think it would be great in our bedroom, but painting the walls in there isn't part of this project. We'll see.
