Saturday my sister-in-law and I took a photo walk, and my niece came along. Here they are coming up from the creek we had to cross to get from their house and property to the land that was homesteaded by my great grandfather and on which my dad grew up. He and my uncle owned it (and farmed it with other help) from before I was born until about 2002 when they sold it. I didn't grow up on the farm. Both my dad and my uncle had full time "day jobs" but they also were workaholics and put in many hours out on the "M&M" as we called the farm.
My sister in law and I had the permission of the present owner to explore and photograph. Neither she nor my niece had ever been over onto the old place, even though they live right next door, so to speak.
My niece brought along her own camera -- a nice used one that her dad (my brother) brought home for her. You don't see it in this picture. I think her mom was carrying both cameras at that moment.
@dannydavies Thanks. The up and down from the creek part of the walk was a workout -- for me, mainly just trying not to slide down. Such a pity. When I was a kid, I climbed all over without a thought. Spent 1/2 my childhood up in a tree. Those days, I guess, are over.
