Three views of the house out on the "M&M" (stands for McCoy and McCoy) which is what we called the farm when my Dad and Uncle Don owned it (now owned by someone outside our family). What is left of the house my dad and his six brothers grew up in. It was first owned by his grandfather, Daniel McCoy. The bottom view -- open space where there had previously been a portion of the house that was taken out by a tornado -- was where I was standing to take the picture I posted on the 12th. http://365project.org/mcsiegle/365/2014-11-12 You can see the cupboard (what remains of it) that I photographed.
@kittikat Thanks, Kitti. You're right. These old limestone buildings can look interesting in ruins where a modern building would just look like junk. It grieves me that it is in this sorry a state. When I first knew it as a child it was very run down -- just used for storage, and one half of the upper story was missing the floor so you'd just look down into the room below (which would be where the empty space is now), but not so dangerous that you couldn't go inside. The tornado took that big chunk and time is taking the rest, I fear. I really wish I could have seen it when my Dad and his brothers were kids -- when it was a lived-in house. Maybe someone will turn up a picture that I haven't seen before, but we don't have many photos from my Dad's family and none that show the house.
